Prayers and safe travels to the Bishop Neumann students & chaperones who are attending the Mission Trips to Chicago and New Mexico.
New Mexico Mission Trip: Students will be working with the Missionaries of Charity and the Little Sisters of the Poor with some of the poorest in the United States. While there they will be helping in a soup kitchen, assisting at a homeless shelter, distributing goods to the poor, working with the elderly, and working with children. This trip also involves physical labor and working with the poor on many maintenance and building projects.
Chicago Mission Trip: Students work with the Missionaries of Charity and the Franciscans of the Eucharist at 2-3 places each day. Students work in soup kitchens, homeless shelters, food pantries, an after school activity center for at risk youth, a home for the disabled, and hand out meals to the homeless on the streets of Chicago. Students also provide a “block party” for inner city youth.
