Cavaliers Serve on a Mission Trip to New Mexico

Thirty-eight students and twenty chaperones recently returned from serving on a mission trip to New Mexico. Students worked along side the Franciscan Missionary Sisters, the Missionaries of Charity and the Little Sisters of the Poor. Working with different organizations to clean, repair, construct and help where ever they were needed. This included offering a children’s camp at Sacred Heart Catholic School, working at a nursing home, a food pantry, a women’s shelter, and the Sacred Heart Retreat center, where they renovated roads and moved over 100 tons of rock. The work that was done was to help beautify a place of retreat for the Native Americans of the region, to serve the poor, the elderly and children in the Diocese of Gallup, which is the poorest diocese in the United States.  Each day included Mass, adoration, retreats, fellowship, singing, and service work, all centered on serving Christ by serving others.
