WINTER SPORTS GUIDELINES
JANUARY 4, 2021
The NSAA updated their winter sports guidelines on December 31, 2020 that will go into
effect on Monday January 4, 2021.
Under the new guidelines Bishop Neumann will now be able to allow 50% capacity at the
Neumann gym. This allows 500 people to attend our athletic events. The St. Wenceslaus
gym capacity is now 75 people, but it still may limit household and grandparent attendance
because of the size of the gym.
The NSAA and Neumann will require face coverings for all spectators in attendance. The face
covering must cover the nose and mouth. Social distancing by household groups is still
For the Neumann wrestling dual and basketball games with just one JV game and one varsity
game everyone interested can attend. If we find that we are close to 50% capacity then a
ticket system will be used for admittance into the contests. More information on that
process will be sent out through the school announcements and social media in the future.
For contests with the potential to go over the 50% capacity like girl/boy basketball
doubleheaders and our wrestling invite. Our priority for ticket availability would be parents,
grandparents and then our student body. Additional tickets would be available for interested
fans. We will still plan on live streaming of some of our athletic events and information will
be released by the school.
Please understand that these guidelines are ever changing and vary from school to school and
community to community. Our priority is for the safety and well-being of everyone
participating and in attendance of Bishop Neumann activities. Our goal is to be able to
continue to participate for the entire winter sports season.
