Fr. Zimmer began his professional life as a computer programmer in Dallas, Texas after receiving his B.A. in Computer Science and Mathematics. However, God had other plans and he answered the call to the priesthood after four years as a programmer. After receiving his MDiv in Theology and his M.A. in Sacred Scripture from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, he began his priesthood assigned to North American Martyrs in Lincoln and taught Senior Theology at Pius X High School.  He then taught 2 years of Junior Theology at Aquinas Catholic High School in David City before coming to Bishop Neumann High School.

He currently serves as Pastor for Sts. Mary and Joseph Church in Valparaiso. Additionally, he is the Assistant Administrative Officer  at Bishop Neumann.
