Janiece began her teaching career in the Omaha Public Schools teaching 3rd grade students for one year before moving to Chicago where she and her husband lived for three years. Then they moved to south-central Iowa where she did substitute teaching and took care of their two young children. After three years the family moved to northwest Iowa where Janiece worked for eight years as an elementary Title I reading and math teacher. At that point they moved to north central Kansas where Janiece earned her Masters Degree in Special Education. For 20 years she worked with students at the elementary and high school levels. She is currently in her second year as the Resource Teacher at Bishop Neumann.
Janiece is married to her high school sweetheart, Russ. They have two grown children, Stephen and Megan. Stephen and his wife work for Omaha Public Schools and have an adorable son, Johnathan. Megan lives and works in Chicago as a pediatric hospice chaplain
