After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Hastings College (which included a twenty-day interim history course in Jamaica) in 1991, Tim began his teaching career first in Genoa, Nebraska, and now currently at Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo, Nebraska. Tim’s love of travel and education began at a young age. From the time he was five all the way into his early teens, Tim traveled with his race car driving father to over thirty-six states and Canada. In 2003, Tim took his first group of EF Tour students to London, and he has taken thirteen more groups since then: that’s over 350 Neumann students who have traveled abroad in those years! Tim also does work for EF tours and this has allowed him to expand his global education by visiting thirty-seven countries. Tim will be leading his first alumni/friends of Neumann trip to Scotland this summer and he hopes to do many more of those trips in the future.
Tim teaches British Literature, world literature, and physical education at Bishop Neumann and coaches three sports. He is the head track coach at Neumann and his 2015 and 2016 teams were state champions. Additionally, over sixty jumpers have made it to state since Tim started coaching the jumpers in 1995, and over forty of those jumpers placed in the top eight at the state meet. Recently, Tim received Hastings College’s outstanding alumni coach of the year award.
