Sam Kavan Finalist for National Merit Scholarship and Baylor Univeristy Regents Gold Scholarship

Bishop Neumann High School would like to congratulate Sam Kavan who has earned the position of Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship competition. There are 15,000 Finalists chosen and some 7,500 became Merit Scholarship winners. Sam may still be in the running for a corporate sponsored scholarship which could be applied to costs other than tuition, which he will receive notification of that by June. While being the finalist, Sam has also received the Baylor University Regents’ Gold Scholarship. This scholarship will cover the entire cost of Sam’s Baylor tuition. Baylor will also supplement Sam’s Regents’ Gold Scholarship with $2,000 to $4,000 depending on SAT or ACT scores to assist him with other expenses up to the total cost of attendance. Bishop Neumann is more than proud of Sam Kavan and all of his continued success and hard work.

All current juniors will have the opportunity to take the PSAT in October 2019 which is the same test Sam took his junior year to qualify for this scholarship.
